0117 - Day 28 - Helsinki to Tallinn - 29/06/19

Hyvinkaa to Tallinn. I think I’ve spelt those right. Today we had two excellent tests this morning (first at a rallicross circuit near our hotel, the second a full blown forest stage about 80km towards Helsinki) then caught the ferry to Tallinn where we are tonight. The stages today really suited Gidget and according to the time sheets she acquited herself well. On the first stage, we weren't the only ones to go wrong on the second transition to dirt, as I watched a number of friends do likewise form the viewing gallery!! The second stage was a great forest rally stage, smooth, fast and predictable - I think everyone had a ball ont hat, and the mood reflected it as we waited for the ferry to Tallinn. Somehow I fell asleep in the ferry, so don't remember much of that, but had a great chat with a few of the teams about their plans for what's next. I can't think that far ahead! And then we had a 3km drive from the ferry to the hotel. Once we got into the car park (I'm not sure that boom is ever coming back down again :)) this evening actually involved a wander around the old town as there was nothing amiss on the car! Photos to prove that the Helsinki gulls are voracious, Tallinn has lots of spires and doors 🤣 And even the stilt man has to have a fag break occasionally....
