0112 - Day 23 - Kazan to Nijniy Novgorod - 24/06/19

Kazan to Nizhny Novgorod (formerly Gorky). 480km of transit. Gave us a chance to relax a bit and enjoy the countryside. I was reminded (by the smell) that there was a special and somewhat spectacular accident involving a diesel tanker and a sharp left hander yesterday (truck on side, contents of tanker on the road) and the car is coated with a fine film of diesel. Which stinks. Other than that, we crossed the mighty Volga twice today, and enjoyed some lovely countryside and some both terrible potholed roads and smooth fast tarmac. And beautiful coronet covered churches. And villages with everyone waving and smiling. Awesome😀😀😀. We were brought in to NN (too long to spell it out each time!) along the side of the Volga, via a square where there was a formal welcome, and best of all, ice cream. Sold by the kilo :)  Good day capped by arriving early so I was able to fine tune the clutch so hopefully tomorrow it’ll be perfect! And we’ve hot wired the spot tracker so you might see us appear again! Photos of the Volga, churches, a Bentley, a pontoon etc!
And the video link for the secton from Kazan all the way to St Petersburg here
