0101 - Day 12 - Aya to Novokuznetsk

Yesterday, today and tomorrow are about car preservation, getting us to Novosibirsk and our next "rest" day, which will need to be spent getting a new pair of springs made up, otherwise we are going to have to limp all the way to Paris on a pair of completely inadequate ones.
So although the day today was fairly fast on both dirt and roads, we had to be very careful to avoid lumps bumps and ruts. We also made the strategic decision to avoid the worst of the gravel stages, which I gather probably saved our springs, but cost us 360 minutes in penalties.
So it was a long day of hard concentration, and driving into the rock star reception we got at the car park was, therefore something of a surprise! Once we'd finished spanner checking the car, we just about had time for dinner and a drink before I fell asleep in my soup! Sadly I didn't get a chance to look around the evidently rather well curated collection of cars belonging to one of the participants. Apparently the hotel we stayed in is also his!
