0100 - Day 11 - Kochevnik to Aya

Long day today - 545km or thereabouts, a mix of tarmac and dirt, with some stops that attracted the first crowds we'd really experienced in Russia. At teatime we had a fifteen minute break before our out time, and spent it chatting to the locals (and in Nick's case, giving the pretty one a t shirt :)). The evening MTC at the hotel proved a bit frustrating to find at first, as we missed the main turning in, but once there, we found the local welder and were able to get the stress cracks that had appeared in the rear chassis members repaired. Not until I had given up waiting and gone to bed mind you! Today was also the first day of the butterflies - something rather like a Cabbage White, but they have hatched in the billions, and every car that came the other way was coated with them. So were we, as it turns out!
