0116 - Day 27 - St Petersburg to Helsinki - 28/06/19

Crossing into the EU. Today the sun shone, we had a (almost uneventful) run out of St Petersburg with the roof back down, and we crossed the border from Russia to Finland. The event was that we and several others accidentally came off the motorway at a toll and had to do some nifty footwork to get it back. But once that was over it was a run to the border, relatively efficient processing (including being aloowed through the EU Passport only line despite us both runnning on our Australian passports!) and then a couple of fun gravel sections on our way to the Sveitsti Hotel near Hyvinkaa. What a contrast! The first border crossing where we knew we had changed countries. Russia was lovely but pretty basic. Finland is picture perfect. Honestly. It’s beautiful. And the people are SOO friendly! Spent the evening once I’d spannered Gidget helping out Jamie with a noisy exhaust 😀. Ate and drank too much. And we have two tests tomorrow! Goodnight ......
